On motion duly made and carried, the Board of Directors passed the following resolution as Bylaw #2 (March 18, 2001, Vernon BC): Resolved that the section entitled "Conditions of Membership" in Bylaw #1 is hereby repealed and the following is enacted as Bylaw#2: CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP There are two categories of members: 1.1 Ordinary membership, with full privileges, is open to Canadian electronic community networking organizations, including public access sites, learning networks, community networks and other organizations that support the aims and objectives of Telecommunities Canada and that: operate on a not-for-profit basis; have their legal membership open to every citizen of their community; provide equitable access to all citizens in their community; encourage exchange, publication and access to the broadest possible range of information of interest to the community; and endeavour to create connections with other computer based networks and to allow the free and interactive flow of information between different communities; and whose membership application has been approved from time to time by the board of directors. Non-voting honorary membership is open to any persons or organizations as admitted by the board of directors. The membership term shall be one year. Membership fees payable by each ordinary member shall be determined from time to time by the board of directors of the corporation. Any member may withdraw from the corporation by delivering to the corporation a written resignation and lodging a copy of the same with the secretary of the corporation. Any member may be required to resign by a vote of three-quarters (3/4) of the members at a general meeting of members duly called with that matter on the agenda.
